Roots was born from a straightforward idea and the determination to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots, driven by their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and its significance to them. Originally launching in Toronto with footwear, Roots has since expanded to include high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their renowned salt & pepper sweats, natural fiber apparel, and home décor. Our leather goods have consistently been and continue to be crafted in Canada at our own facility in Toronto.
